Ottumwa - Bradly John Covington of Ottumwa, Iowa, passed away November 7, 2025.
He was born on October 8, 1965, son of Jo Anne Sheets Pierce.
Brad attended Indian Hills Community College, earned a BFA from UNI and an MFA from Pratt Institute NY. He was awarded a residency at Skowhegan, Maine. He had a solo Exhibition at Andre Zarre Gallery, NY and was in 14 group shows in New York, Iowa and Cyprus. Brad owned and operated Anomaly Gallery in Ottumwa for several years. He created a mural on the front of Main St., Ottumwa and another on the back of Main St. He was on the Main Street design committee. His volunteer work covered many areas and his efforts were greatly appreciated.
He was a perfectionist in remodeling, refinishing antique furniture and restoring paintings. He was noted for having the ability to recognize good antiques and to understand all forms of artwork. His intelligence and quick wit always contributed to good conversations. Brad was an artist with many talents. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
It has been a privilege to have known such a kind and gentle man.
He is survived by his sister Erinn Pierce, nephew, Isaac Mills, and mother, Jo Anne Sheets Pierce.
His body has been cremated. Visitation will be November 21, 2025 at Railroad Clubhouse, 210 W Main St. starting at 4 p.m.
