I miss Carl already. We lived in rural OK, it was the early 60's, Carl and my dad would race their cars into town which was 10 miles away. What an honorable and incredible man. Carl was my brother in law and my friend.

I wish to express my sincerest condolences to Carl's family.Jeff&I were in the same graduating class.I remember Mr Bishop best in the office&lunchroom; at Rockford Jr/Sr High.I wasn't one to get into trouble,so when I was sent to the office once,he looked up in surprise&ask; what I was doing there.I explained that after school I was saying goodbye to D.P. before he had track&I got on the bus to go home.We were spotted by a teacher but I never heard her warning (D.P. did but thought it was another student giving us a hard time.)We both heard the order to get to the office...He smirked when he found the circumstances that landed us there&said; next time go to the park, that's what they were for....I also recall the spelling job on my lunch ticket which he reissued when he found out how far off his was...Sworts...lol.I have nothing but kind words to say of this man.He never seemed to lose his temper even in the worst circumstances with a school of teens! He was funny, good natured, kind considerate&never; jumped to conclusions. He cared about us as a student body, cared about our school&was; a wonderful principle.I was certainly saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts&prayers; are with you all.Read more

Our family was saddened to hear of Carl’s passing. I was asked to extend condolences for my dad, Lynn Hansen, also. He always felt they made an amazing team. They shared a vision and mission to provide the best education possible and help people become the best version of themselves. I love hearing dad tell stories about their time working together. Though I didn’t understand all of this as a kid, I value it so deeply as an adult. The world needs more Carl Bishops on the educational frontlines and I feel so blessed to have been influenced by his example.
May memories and prayers bring your family comfort during this time. He will be missed, but he left a lasting legacy from a life w

I've thought so many times over the years of our fair and fearless leader. He treated everyone with dignity and respect. And it was a gift if you could get him to crack a smile. So sorry for your loss.

We always enjoyed when Mr. Bishop would be a last-minute substitute for a class, and throw trivia at us. I didn’t recognize this feeling at the time, but we always knew we could trust him, being in charge, and that felt very safe. I tell my kids stories about him. I am so sorry for your loss.

May Mr. Bishop be hovering over all those he has impacted and seeing the legacy that he never "purposefully" intended to leave behind! Condolences to his friends and family. Please know his life was NOT wasted. .... his life continues to live through thousands that he impacted. The world is a better place because he was in it!

As a reporter for the local paper I got to know Mr. Bishop well and always enjoyed our visits. I also worked partime at the RRMR school and he was a good boss. He was a great principal!
