Clara June Boyer, 76, passed away peacefully at 4:30 pm on April 6th, 2025, comfortably sleeping in her home.

Clara was born July 5, 1948, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to John P. Masters and Bertha Rose White Masters. A graduate of Ottumwa High School, she lived in Ottumwa until the age of 24, when she moved to the Quad Cities area to raise her three sons. Clara returned to Ottumwa in 1991.

She worked for John Deere for 15 years in both Ottumwa and the Quad Cities before pursuing a second career grooming dogs in both regions. Clara was an advocate and beloved friend to animals, particularly the family dog—hers as well as yours. Clara was able to fulfill her retirement dreams of spending a few years in Tucson, Arizona, making many new friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Greg Boyer of Fulton, IL, and Eric Boyer of Milan, IL; daughter-in-law Kristi Neff Boyer of Milan, IL; her grandchildren Jeremy Boyer of Davenport, IA, Justin Boyer of Vieques, Puerto Rico, Madison Boyer of Galesburg, IL, and Aubrey Boyer of Milan, IL; two sisters, Florence Johnson of Connecticut and Millie Breon of Arizona; as well as countless nieces and nephews.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her cherished son, Jason Boyer; her first grandson Josh Roland Boyer; her twin sister, Clarise Lea Masters; brothers, John Masters and William "Bill" Masters; and sisters, Mary Rose Ford, Margaret Ann Hornback, Nora Belle Hull, May Stoker, Edith Gowen, and Grace Masters Wessel.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at McCormick Cemetery near Highland Center, Iowa, on June 5th at 10 AM. Family and friends will gather afterward for lunch at The Food Bank of Iowa, 705 W. Main Ottumwa, IA 52501
