Mission, Texas - Craig Dennis Kelley, 73, of Knoxville, Iowa passed away December 25, 2025 in Mission, Texas. Born on July 8, 1952, he was the son of Maurice (Maury) Henry Kelley and Helen Delores Funk. He was born in Ottumwa, and was a 1971 graduate of Ottumwa High School.
He married Linda Rath in 1972 and had two sons, Curt and Kyle. In 1984, he married Jeanne Wilkinson, and together they soon welcomed their third son, Bradon. That same year, Craig and Jeanne founded Central Iowa Fasteners.
Craig was deeply committed to community service. He was a member of Kiwanis in Ottumwa, a long time supporter and leader within the Optimist Club, and worked hands-on with Habitat for Humanity, contributing his time and skills directly to building projects. He served the city of Knoxville as Mayor from 2004 to 2006 and also served on the City Council.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Jeanne; his sons, Curtis (Stephanie) of Albia, Kyle (Jamie) of Ottumwa, and Bradon of Knoxville; four grandsons, Dakota, Grayson, Kohl, and Tyreece; one great-grandson, Daxton; his brother, Joel (Debra) of Thayer, Missouri; his sister, Jane (Michael) Austin of Asheville, North Carolina; two nephews, Buddy and Bobby, and one niece, Robin.
Craig's life was marked by compassion, service, and generosity, leaving the world better for his presence in it. He will be deeply missed by many.
He has been cremated, and a memorial service will be held in the Spring.
