Edith Alberta Bingaman, age 91, of Cantril, Iowa died on November 20, 2020. She was born on October 17, 1929 near Milton to Clarence and Bertha Gibson. After the death of her parents, Edith made her home with Claude and Lila Dixon of West Grove, Iowa. She married Dwight W. Bingaman on June 3,1961 and they made their home north of Cantril, Iowa.

Edith graduated from Bloomfield High School and the Centerville Junior College and taught country school in Davis County for 13 years.

Edith was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, a district officer in the Ottumwa District of Methodist Women and Iowa Conference of United Methodist Women. She held office in the Lebanon United Methodist Women's group, taught Sunday School most of her life and was a Certified Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church. Edith later joined the Milton Christian Church.

Her mission work included working at Henderson Settlement and Heifer Project International. Edith also went to Costa Rica to help build a parsonage.

Edith belonged to the Retired School Personnel and the Red Hats at the nursing home in Keosauqua.

Edith enjoyed embroidering, gardening, making quilts, and her favorite thing was baking.

She is survived by her daughters, Truenea Teasley (Genaro Rosales) of El Paso, Texas and Ivalue Roemmich (Kenneth) of Sioux City, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Lila Dixon; her husband; two brothers, Marvin Gibson and William Gibson; two sisters, Marie Glick and Vera Burkhalter; and a brother and sister in infancy.

Due to Covid-19, a graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Lebanon Cemetery with Minister Kevin Mote officiating. Memorials in Edith's honor may be made to the Lebanon Cemetery. Online condolences may be directed to www.pedrickfuneralhome.com.
