Dana Point, CA - Dr. John Glenn Hazen

October 3, 1934 - May 15, 2025

Dr. John Glenn Hazen, 90, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of humility, compassion, and service. Born in Ottumwa, Iowa, John was a devoted husband, father, physician, and Christian. He attended the University of Iowa, where he earned both his bachelor's and medical degrees and remained a lifelong Hawkeye fan.

John met the love of his life, Delores Albright, at LA County Hospital, where he completed his residency through USC and became board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Oncology. They married in 1966 and shared over 58 years of true partnership rooted in faith and love. Over the years they were blessed with four children who were a source of joy and pride for them both. John practiced medicine for over 40 years in South Orange County, known throughout the community for his sharp intellect and servant's heart. John never lost his love for his beloved hometown of Ottumwa, and spoke of it with fondness throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Reverend Delores Albright Hazen; children Tracy Hazen (Tom DePriest), Bob Hazen (Beth), Sara Hazen, and Jenny Hazen (Jaime Saleta); and grandchildren Alex, Abby, and Cade Hazen. His humility and devotion to others made a lasting impact on all who knew him. The family welcomes all to attend John's memorial service which will be held on June 7 at San Clemente Presbyterian Church in San Clemente, CA at 11:00am.
