John  Madden
John M. Madden, 69, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on December 10, 2019 at the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown. He was born on March 30, 1950 to Max and Evelyn Mudge Madden in Fairfield, Iowa. John graduated from Van Buren County High School with the class of 1968. He married the love of his life, Janice Moroney in Farmington, Iowa in 1980. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2018. John worked for several years at the Bavarian House Restaurant in Des Moines. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, was a black belt in karate, liked to read and enjoyed riding his bike.

He is survived by a brother, Dan (Kathy) Madden of Tampa, Florida; two nieces, Sara Madden of Arlington, Virginia, Susan (Jay) Langford of Tampa, Florida; two great-nephews, Madden and Barrett Langford; two sisters-in-law, Diane Moroney Stephens of Florida, Pat Moroney Chesmore of Verona, Wisconsin; and special friend/mentor, Ed Kail.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Evelyn Madden; and his wife, Janice; parents-in-law, Francis and Millie Moroney; sister-in-law, Joanie Moroney; and brother-in-law, William Moroney.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Harness Cemetery in Mount Sterling, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution's in John's honor may be made to the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. John's family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Dack Unit at the Iowa Veteran's Home for their unending patience, kindness, and care.
