Moravia, Iowa - John Charles "Chuck" McAninch, age 79, of Moravia passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines surrounded by his family.

Charles was born on February 8, 1943 in Centerville, Iowa the son of John & Jessie (Sheldon) McAninch. Charles graduated from Moravia High School in 1961. After high school, he attended Centerville Community College. Charles was united in marriage to Linda Talbot on June 1, 1968 in Centerville, Iowa. To this union, three sons were born, Patrick, Kirk, and Shawn.

Over the years Charles enjoyed farm life, raising animals, and trucking cattle. He would later drive for Standard Forwarding Company and retired after 21 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 147.

Survivors include his wife Linda, three sons: Patrick (Debbie), Kirk (Susan), and Shawn (Lori), a sister: Charlotte Muse, mother-in-law: Bonnie Talbot, eight grandchildren: Chloe, Natalie, Hunter, Jer, Millie, Maggie, Molly, and Macey, and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law: Frank Talbot, brother-in-law: Lynn Muse, brother-in-law: James Talbot as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held, 10:30 am, Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia. Interment will be at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 12-8 pm on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia, with the family present from 5-8 pm.
