Judy Cox Obituary

Judy Ann Cox, age 72, of Ottumwa, passed away peacefully at her home on December 15, 2020. She was born on January 30, 1948 to William Ray and Rosemary (Yeoman) Riley in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Judy was a lifetime resident of Ottumwa. She was a graduate of Ottumwa High School, class of 1967. She married Jerry Lee Cox on April 7, 1979 in Ottumwa. They were blessed with a son, Michael Ray Cox.

She worked at the Ottumwa Hospital and enjoyed being a Mother and housewife. Judy was a member of the Davis Street Christian Church for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family and friends. Her service cat, Annie was her comforting companion as they both enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels.

Judy is survived by her husband, Jerry of Ottumwa; a son, Michael (Heather) of Volant, Pennsylvania; siblings, Ray J. Riley (Mercedes Ann) of Kearney, Missouri; Linda Kay Mangler of Ottumwa; three nephews, one great niece, four great nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, her parents, William and Rosemary, five Aunts and six Uncles.


Judy's body has been cremated per her wishes and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family and be sent to Jerry at 102 West Finley Ave Cottage #5, Ottumwa, IA 52501. Online Condolences may be left for the family at sinnottfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are entrusted with Sinnott Funeral Home in Ottumwa.
