Ottumwa, Iowa - Larry David Dodson, 85, of Ottumwa died at 9:25 a.m. October 6, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society - Ottumwa.

He was born January 17, 1940 in Fairfield to Leland and Josephine Blumer Dodson. He married Deanne Charlene November 15, 1978.

Larry served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961. He then worked for Burlington Northern Railroad retiring in 2005.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, stock car racing, and softball. Larry was a Cardinal's baseball fan, and he loved a good game of cards.

Surviving is his wife, Deanna; children, Kevin Feehan of Wever, Kelly Dodson of Center Hill, FL, Kimberly Dennis of Little Rock, AR and Mike Rodgers of Frisco, TX; 4 grandchildren, Kolter Feehan, Kody Feehan, Alyssa Rodgers and Josie Butchee; siblings, Rosalea Harvey of Lecontes Mills, PA, Jennifer Shaffer, Jeff Dodson both of Camanche and Jacki Dodson of Pine Island, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland Dodson and Josephine Kamerick; stepmother, Dixie Dodson; stepfather, Martenis Kamerick; a son, Kyle Dodson; and a sister, Pearl Kamerick.

Visitation will be open after 11 a.m. Tuesday October 14th at Reece Funeral Home with family present to greet friends 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday October 15th at Reece Funeral home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
