Larry  Peck
Lawrence "Larry" Jacob Peck, 88, of Ottumwa died at 3:05 a.m. November 10, 2019 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born April 14, 1931 in Jefferson County, IA to Walter and Myra Kurtz Peck. He married Ana L. Hernandez December 26, 1966 in Sigourney, IA and she preceded him in death January 8, 2019.
A graduate of Fairfield High School, he served in the U.S. Army. He lived in Pennsylvania and St. Joseph, MO for a short time before moving to Ottumwa where he worked as a Prudential Insurance Agent for over 30 years.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation, Knights of Columbus Council #888, Izaak Walton League and the Democratic Party. He enjoyed helping his brother on the farm and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed jazz music and attending jazz festivals.
Surviving is a daughter, Lisa Maria Priester of Honolulu, HI; a son, Lawrence Michael Peck of Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Jazz and Havana Priester both of Honolulu, HI and Crystal Turner of Derby, KS; a brother, Donald Peck of Pleasant Plain and a sister-in-law, Dolores Peck of Grinnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Visitation with Fr. James Betzen C.PP.S. and Fr. Patrick Hilgendorf concelebrating. Cremation will follow the services. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday. A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
