Marvin Edward Lancaster, 87, of Ottumwa, died at 1:02 p.m. December 1, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.
He was born February 5, 1932 in Fayette, MO to Linwood and Pearl Faye Lawrence Lancaster. He married Brenda Sanders.
Marvin had served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a carpenter and had worked for GPC in Muscatine.
A resident of Ottumwa for the past 16 years, he enjoyed camping and fishing.
Surviving is his wife, Brenda; his children, Leila (David) Hill, Marvin (Jody) Lancaster Jr., Teena Lancaster Hart (Chuck Martin); step-children, Gay Anne, Marvin Lloyd Lancaster, Suzanne Shirley, Roger (Geana) Smith, Steve (Tonya) Lancaster, Norbert (Kim) Heinen, Patricia (Gary) Johnson, Don (Kim) Heinen, Stacy Barnett (Dennis) and Patty (Matthew) Lane; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn (Kenneth) Hill of Ottumwa; ex-wife Doris Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Gertrude, Madora, Alice Johnson, Charlie Lancaster, Lloyd Lancaster, Alfred Lancaster, Arthur Lancaster, Jack Lancaster, and Willard Lancaster; children, Steve Lackland, Sandy Beason and Ronnie Lancaster, a stepdaughter, Dot; a granddaughter, Amy; great-great-granddaughter, Gabriella; ex-wife Lois Lancaster, ex-wife LaDonna Lancaster, and ex-wife Merilee Lackland (Lancaster.)
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Sunday with the family present from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
