Ottumwa, Iowa - Mary Callas Gettings, 89, of Ottumwa, died May 27, 2026.

She was born November 13, 1936, in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, one of twelve children.

Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Callas, and second husband Don Gettings and later shared her life with Don McKelvey.

She is survived by children, Marie Callas, George Callas (Wanita) and Steve Callas (Ann Dahlgren); four grandchildren; and four great‑grandchildren.

Mary enjoyed sports, casinos, traveling, and her friendships at Pennsylvania Place. She will be remembered for her smile, style, and kindness.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 1st at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Curtiss officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
