Ottumwa, Iowa - Melinda Louise Brown, 66, of Ottumwa, died at 7:55 p.m. July 8, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society - Ottumwa.

She was born August 19, 1958 in California to John and Juanita Marshall Brady. She married Mike Brown September 15, 1989 and he preceded her in death February 14, 2017.

A graduate of Ottumwa High School, Melinda was a general secretary at Heartland Lysine. She enjoyed going to casinos, pets and especially her dogs.

Surviving are her children, Christina Jones of Eddyville, Bradie Close of Bloomfield and Shane Close of Tomball, TX; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Brady and Jim Brady both of Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Her body has been cremated.

Visitation will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday July 13th at Reece Funeral Home.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday July 14th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Malloy officiating. Inurnment may be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia at a later date.
