Palm Desert, California - Michael Edward Boswell passed away on September 05 2025 in Palm Desert, CA. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 01, 1946 to Virginia and Edward Boswell. They moved to Kansas City, KS early in Michael's childhood. Michael married (Sherry) Renae (nee Lehman) in 1968. They had 2 children, Casey Michael, and Amy Elizabeth. The family moved to Muscatine, IA in 1976 and stayed until 1984. In Muscatine, Michael and Renae were very active in the local CB radio club (where his CB handle was Fat Cat) and their square dancing club. Michael was employed there by Hon Industries.

In 1984, the family moved to Renae's hometown of Ottumwa, IA. Soon after moving Michael and Renae started up what became one of their life's passions, restoring classic cars. They became an integral part of the regional car show scene, always prepping for or helping run a car show on most weekends. Michael also loved to fish, and loved to DJ classic rock at events (he even DJ his daughter's wedding in 2003). Michael retired from Cargill. In 2011 after Renae retired, they moved to Branson, MO and lived the cabin life for a few years before moving to Palm Springs in 2018.

Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Later in life, in both Branson and in Palm Springs, he volunteered with the Vietnam Veterans of America, performing color guard at veterans' funerals. In Palm Springs, he also volunteered at the Palm Springs Air Museum giving tours and educating visitors about the planes that were housed there.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Renae, his parents, Virginia and Edward, and his brother, Steven Eston.

He is survived by his son and son in law Casey Boswell and Benjamin Luna of Palm Desert CA, his daughter, son in law, and granddaughter Amy Haddy (nee Boswell), David Haddy and Zelda Haddy of Minneapolis, MN.
