Ankeny, Iowa - Patricia St. Onge Paxton, 78, Ankeny, Iowa, died on Monday, June 30, 2025 at home with husband Larry at her side. Pat was born July 21, 1946 in Medicine Lake, Minnesota to Sam & Ruby (Fowlds) St. Onge.
Pat was educated as a Social Worker. She moved to Iowa for a job as an AA Counselor at the Iowa Methodist Powell Center when it first opened. Her final career stint was a Parole Officer with the State of Iowa.
Avid reader describes her three walls of paperbacks and later a fan of Amazon Kindle books. She loved fiction, especially Star Trek. Larry and she owned several Harley - Davidson motorcycles over the years, being a passenger was a delight. Pat was a dog lover, raising and showing Shelties, and later Standard Poodles.
Survivors include husband Larry Paxton, and her Standard Poodles, 'Teeno' and 'Breezy'. Preceding her is death were her parents Sam and Ruby St. Onge.
A Memorial Gathering will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Iles Dunn's Chapel, 2121 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50312. Pat's cremains will be interred at a later date.
