Albia, Iowa - Robert F. Anderson, 93, of Albia, passed away late Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. Interment will follow in Munterville Cemetery. Visitation will be also be held on Saturday, from 9-11 a.m., with Bob's family present at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. Memorials may be directed to the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Indianola or the Gate Community Church in Albia. Robert was born on July 31, 1929 in Agency, Iowa to Dwight Leroy and Lola (Funk) Anderson. He graduated from Agency High School, and then received his Bachelors Degree from Parson's College in Fairfield. He later received his Masters Degree from Northeast Missouri State University. Robert began his teaching career in Agency, then taught for decades and retired from the Ottumwa school district.

Robert married Patricia Jean Whipple on July 18, 1948 in Agency. They were blessed with six children, Twila, Patricia, Kenneth, Rachel, Deena, and Susan. His wife, Patricia preceded him in death on January 28, 2001.

Bob was a man of faith, slow to anger, humble, had a servant's heart and was devoted to his family. He enjoyed traveling, camping, going to Branson and Arizona. He was an independent person, a creature of habit and would do things his own way. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Twila (Gary) Sample of Albia, Patricia Parsons of Oskaloosa, Dr. Kenneth (Diane) Anderson of Chariton, Rachel (David) Sample of Albia, Deena (Dr. Bruce) Lindberg of Ottumwa, Susan (Tim) Crosby of Indianola; sister, Lola Lee Anderson Pike of Fountain Hills, AZ, sixteen grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Lola Anderson; wife, Patricia; brother, Dwight Anderson Jr., and son-in-law, Frank Parsons.
