Roger "Smokey" Warren 59 of Ollie, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Roger was born on February 7, 1961 in Sigourney, Iowa. The son of Richard C. and Mary Ellen (Creech) Warren. Roger graduated from Pekin High School with the class of 1979.

Roger loved nothing more than farming and raising calves. He drove a truck for the Hammes family of Ollie. He was an avid hunter of deer and pheasant. Roger also loved fishing and trapping.

Roger was a quiet man but had a heart to help others and very giving, he will be deeply missed by many.

He is survived by his Mother Mary Ellen of Oskaloosa Sisters; Joyce Warren of Florida, Carolyn (Bill) Schwartz of Hedrick, Barbara Barnes of Beacon, a Brother; Eugene (Clara) Warren of Delta; along with nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and many good friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his father Richard, a Brother, Paul Warren and Brother in Law Jimmy Barnes.

According to his wishes, cremation has been entrusted through Fremont Funeral Chapel.

According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending. Open visitation with a rolling limit of 10 in the building at any given time, will begin on Thursday, June 18, after 12 p.m. in the Fremont Funeral Chapel until 7 p.m. Family will be present from 5-7 p.m. to greet family and friends. The Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Carolyn Schwartz that will be divided between the University of Iowa Neurosurgical ICU and the Keokuk County Ambulance Service both of which provided amazing care for Roger in his final days.
