Shirley Lynn Stonebraker, age 66, of Sigourney, died Thursday, May 14, 2020, at MercyOne Hospice Care in Johnston.
Shirley was born January 31, 1954, at St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa, to Harry and Norma (Danels) Stonebraker. She attended grade school in Hayesville and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1972. Shirley worked as a secretary at Vision Ag from 1987 until 2013. She was a member of the Hayesville Church and the Sigourney Women's Bowling Association and enjoyed bowling, attending her daughter's activities, visiting her grandson and listening to Toby Keith.
Survivors include her daughter: Stacey (Curtis) Lilienthal of Des Moines; grandson: Jace Lilienthal of Des Moines; father: Harry Stonebraker and friend Beverly Christner of Sigourney; sister: Peg (Jim) Eversmeyer of Sigourney; brother: Randy Stonebraker and friend LuAnn Berger of Sigourney; nieces: Marsha Gilliland of Sigourney and Sara Rosenow and friend Steve Miller of Iowa City; nephew: Stephen Stonebraker of Des Moines; great nephew: Garrett Rosenow and great nieces: Addison Miller and Norah Miller. She was preceded in death by her mother: Norma in 1989.
Private family graveside service will be held. Burial will be at Pennington Cemetery near Sigourney. There will be no public visitation.
A memorial fund has been established for MercyOne Hospice and the S-K High School bowling team. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Shirley and her family. Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
