Terry  Guiter
Terry Martin Guiter, 59, of Ottumwa, died at 9:33 p.m. November 15, 2019 after a short battle with cancer.
He was born November 17, 1959 in Atlantic, IA to Loren F. and Nancy Jane Louise Townsend Guiter. He married Barb Bray on May 1, 1998.
He was a 1978 graduate of Ottumwa High School and of Indian Hills Community College in 1999.
He was a forklift operator, an over the road semi driver and currently was a custodian for the Ottumwa Community Schools. He was a member of AFSCME Local #1141.
Terry was a third generation farmer on the family farm. He was head grounds keeper at Burns Cemetery. A motorcycle enthusiast all of his life, he enjoyed all things outdoors including gardening and at the end of the day enjoyed his beer time.
Surviving is his wife, Barb; his brother, Tom (Sherri) Guiter of Odessa, TX and his sister, Kathy (Kermit) Kirchhoff of Overland Park, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Chris, Joe and Fred Guiter.
His body has been cremated.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Burns Cemetery, 16997 Eddyville Rd. with Kevin Palmer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society, P. O. Box 1149, Ottumwa, IA 52501 or Hospice serving Wapello & Davis Counties, 927 E. Pennsylvania, Ottumwa, IA 52501.
Terry fought the good fight, he has finished the race, he has kept the faith.
