Ottumwa - OTTUMWA-Virginia Anne Jones, 81, of Ottumwa, died at 9:07 a.m. November 19, 2025 at Vista Woods Care Center.

She was born February 26, 1944 in Ottumwa to Everett and Amey Porter Glotfelty. She married Kenneth Ray Jones March 4, 1989 and he preceded her in death July 18, 2010.

Virginia attended Cardinal High School as well as Iowa State University and earned an associate's degree from Indian Hills Community College. She owned and operated Health Claims Processing and was the original owner and operator of Big Apple Bagels. Virginia was A founder of the SIERA Horse Club and oversaw her own rental properties. She was a member of Mid-Day Connections and a member of Agency TTT.

Virginia enjoyed showing horses, spending time with her family and friends and watching the Iowa State Cyclones.

Surviving is her daughter, Alison (Todd) Smith of Westlake, TX; 2 sons, Bradley (Jami) Yeager of Ottumwa and Aaron (Amanda) Yeager of Glen Rose, TX; 9 grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Laban, Alex (Amanda) Smith, Ben Smith (Danielle Bluestein), Devin (Megan) Yeager, Sarah (Josh) Ridlen, Jessica (Taylor) Crall, Nathan (Mara) Yeager, Bellamy Yeager and Brooks Yeager; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Margaret (Dale) Proctor of West Des Moines and Joyce Carter of Camdenton, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Warren; and brother-in-law, Ralph Carter.

Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Monday, November 24th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 25th at Reece Funeral Home with Larry Smith officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Private inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Care Initiatives Hospice.
