Wanna Dang Frantz Obituary

Meridian, Idaho - Wanna D. Frantz, age 81, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at Spring Gardens Assisted Living in Meridian, Idaho, with her sister by her side.

Born in Thailand, Wanna brought her culinary talents to Iowa and started a family (Rogers) and first business in Fort Dodge. Wanna later moved to Ottumwa with her sons and started a new life and a new restaurant. She married her late husband Dean R. Frantz on October 15, 2000.

Wanna and Dean were most beloved as the owner and operators of Wanna's Won-Ton Inn Restaurant in Ottumwa. Wanna's cherished dishes and her warmth drew friends and customers throughout the area. Wanna was compassionate, kind, loyal, and her culinary skills cooked her way into many hearts. Her love and passion of food, new dishes, and customer favorites, was a reflection of her personality.

Wanna's yard received the Mayor's Beautification Award numerous times and friends would come to sit and relax in her yard with Koi pond and waterfall. Wanna shared the cultural significance of the vibrant colored fish and inspired several friends to create their own ponds.

Wanna's dedication to taking care of her husband Dean, after his diagnosis of Parkinson's, was a show of unconditional love and constant support throughout his life and final years.

As she aged and required support, Wanna moved to Idaho to live with her sister. Later, while in Memory Care with advancing dementia, Wanna was in charge of folding napkins (her way), and at meals she frequently asked for MORE hot sauce.

Wanna's legacy lives on with her friends and family, in the community she nourished, and the countless lives she touched.

Wanna is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband Dean Frantz, son Siam Rogers, and son Leland Frantz.

She is survived by her son Chaiaadan Rogers, son Todd Frantz, daughter-in-law Jenny Rogers, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and her sister Sumalee Sharp.

Her body was cremated. Friends and families recognized and celebrated her life across several states. She is deeply missed by all who loved her and is now reunited with her soulmate Dean, son Siam, and all those who went before her, sharing unlimited Won-Tons for eternity.
